CREAMS AGAINST STRETCH MARKS

If you are looking for a treatment to prevent stretch marks or if they are no more than a year old, you may consider choosing one of the creams that are offered in a wide variety today. Make sure they are good moisturizers containing Vitamins E and A, which will protect body tissues from damage and keep your skin supple. Creams with AHA (alpha-hydroxy acid) are very helpful too, as they stimulate exfoliation and improve the overall look and feel of the skin. Your dermatologist may also recommend you a prescription cream with Retin-A, or Tretinoin, which is a derivative from Vitamin A. When applied regularly, Retin-A will boost the skin cells turnover, prevent prominent scarring, reduce the stretch marks redness and increase collagen production. If you choose to treat stretch marks with a Retin-A cream, you should wear protective clothing or apply a sunscreen to prevent your skin from sunburn because Tretinoin makes the skin more sensitive to sunlight. Creams with Retin-A are not recommended for use by pregnant or lactating women.
